Do not paint over your brokenness
Have you been through a lot? Are you tired of bad news? So overwhelmed with the sorrows that you don’t know how to go on. Or are you tired of faking that everything is all right when it’s not?

Listen. No matter what:
Don’t paint over your brokenness. Bring it to Jesus.
Don’t hide your pain. Bring it to Jesus.

We won’t be thrown out just because we are broken. We are not even meant to be perfect and strong on our own. We don’t have to paint over our mistakes. We are all broken in one way or another. That’s why we all need Jesus.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [curing their pains and their sorrows]. (Psalm 147:3, AMP,*)

We need Jesus because Jesus is the only way we can deal with hardships without becoming bitter. Only Jesus can transform us from death to life, brokenness to wholeness. Only Jesus. But Jesus truly can and he will if you just give him all the pieces, all the pain, all the sorrow you are experiencing.

Jesus is the only healer for our brokenness. Because only Jesus has been broken for us, for our sins, our brokenness, our sorrows, our hardships.

But he was pierced for our rebellion,
    crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
(Isaiah 53:5, NLT,*)

And only Jesus was resurrected from death to life bringing healing, wholeness and life upon life for us. Hence don’t paint over your brokenness, let Jesus make you whole. Don’t hide your pain, let Jesus heal you.

Jesus has been broken for you.
Just receive the gift of healing grace!

Gracious God,
Thank you for your amazing gift of grace.
Thank you for providing us healing and wholeness through Christ.
Teach us to always turn to you with our sorrows.
Heal our hearts and keep us from becoming bitter.
Thank you for loving us so much!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Have you tried painting over your brokenness? Have you been made whole by Jesus?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you embrace Jesus as your healer and redeemer!

* [As you might have noticed, I enjoy reading the Bible in different translations and love comparing them. I have started linking the Bible verses to Biblegateway.com so you can easily read (and compare) them in the different versions I've used while preparing each post.]
